Mini Cup-a-cakes

Made these baby cupcakes for a friend's birthday. :D
I used the Oreo and Vanilla recipes from VCTOTW.

New plant children!

The bunny made a buffet out of my cacti over the summer, so I picked up some new exciting plants yesterday.

I'm really excited about the "pipe cactus".

you make everything glorious

I better have enough space in my Jeep to get my plants home for the summer.

Here's my current tally:
Wandering Jew, Palm, Mint, Lavender, Aloe, Desert Rose, Rosemary (3!), Flapjack plant, Marigold, Ivy, Jade, and several various cacti.

I'll be starting seeds for my veggies this afternoon after my Radiology exam. I've got seeds for lettuce, spinach, soybeans and cauliflower.

My first sourdough bread!

So after watching my mom make sourdough bread all my life, I thought I was old enough to start making my own. (22 is old enough, right?)

I named my starter "Steve" and now he lives in my fridge and I'll let him out once a week to feed him.

Not what I imaged, but still tasty.

Miniature Sushi Cupcakes

It seemed like such a good idea. I had it all planned out. Vegan white sprinkles for the "rice". Swedish Fish for the, well, "fish". A dab of icing for the "wasabi" and an outer layer for the "nori".

Oh well. I couldn't find half of what I was looking for to make these and gave up on the presentation, but at least they were still yummy!

Knit Fingerless Gloves

With spring really starting to warm up, I finished up a pair of fingerless gloves for the chillier mornings. I used
this pattern from Knitty. They're quick, easy and cute!

Baked Goodies

Beignets

From this recipe. Turned out a little dense, but still delicious.

Low fat vanilla cupcake with raspberry jam and fresh organic strawberries on top. They were so light and fluffy.

Cookies and Cream cupcake. The Oreo bits were in the dough and the icing.

Margarita cupcakes! I couldn't find decoration sugar for the icing, but miraculously, Anna had some!

S'mores cupcake!
